Cancer Wellness House is a program 100% committed to ensuring no one faces cancer alone. It is a place of hope, learning and support for anyone whose life has been affected by cancer. Their building, a historic home in the University Neighborhood Historic District of Salt Lake City, was in desperate need of remodeling, so Heart 2 Home, a non-profit foundation that gifts home remodels throughout Utah, stepped in to help out. Heart 2 Home volunteers painted rooms, re-surfaced floors, and re-decorated; giving this place of hope and support new life.

“When it’s all said and done and you see that family come home and they see what we’ve done or in this case you know a company or community effort, a group like this. They’re just in awe. And that’s what makes it worthwhile.” – Chad Walker

For these volunteers, it is about giving back to the community and finding happiness in what they can do for others. Austin, one of the volunteers said, “It’s a warming feeling inside to know, I can sleep better at night knowing that I did something for someone else…”.

And Chad commented, “I just love being able to be out in the community and actually help volunteer. It gives a good feeling in my heart. I think we all seek after that joy and happiness in life, and I want to try to help as many people as I can.”
